The mysterious Kashmiri terrorist group al-Madina, is threatening potential participants in the Indian version of American Idol. al-Madina is responsible for several low-profile terror strikes mainly on Indian government and military targets. Indian intelligence suspects them of being a front group for the more substantial and dangerous Pakistani group Lashkar-e-Taiba or “Army of the Righteous.”

al-Madina has an notable interest in popular culture. This is the same group that pronounced cable television to be a “Zionist conspiracy… to dissuade Muslim youth from Islam.” (source)

Al-Madina has threatened to kill anyone who will take part in the show.

“We appeal to boys and girls of Kashmir not to participate in the talent hunt of the Sony television”, an Al-Madina spokesman, Abu Sadiq, told news organisations.

He said no leniency would be shown against those who defy the ban on the show imposed by the outfit.
