AIDS Ribbon 2K

There is perhaps no greater example of the unmitigated misery caused by the Left’s taste for insulating chosen victim groups from criticism, than the AIDS crisis. The disease is spread almost exclusively though behavioral irresponsibility –principally sexual promiscuity and contaminated syringe sharing among drug users– yet to say this, is often difficult without inviting a lengthy acrimony over lifestyle discrimination. The core depravity of this sort of political correctness, is that it is more greatly offended by coarse words, than by a corporeal epidemic of death.

In the latest troubling news from the gay community, a new British study of sexual behavior revealed that 37% of gay men regularly have unprotected sex and 18% of HIV infected gay men do the same. A lethal combination of supply and demand. Indeed, this would tend to suggest reasons for the enormous growth of HIV infection in Great Britain in recent years. From the United Nations:

What Happened To This?

It’s no wonder that America actually came out on the winning side of World War II. In those days, we had a news media that did one simple thing, report the facts. Terms like “our boys” were common, yes, in a sense taking sides with their home country (God forbid), in newspapers and visual movie theater updates on the war.

Today, as we face the 4th anniversary of the Iraq War, we see headlines such as “what went wrong” or images of crying mothers and bleeding children. MSNBC is running an all day story on the war today, their graphic?… 30 separate images of misery and destruction in Baghdad. We should remind these folks that images like these existed in 1943 as well, in fact many more, in the streets of Japan and Germany during WW2.

Ah… if only conservatives had a pro-America media at their disposal today. It makes you wonder what really drives support down.

Have we reached our 11th edition yet?

There’s a troubling little court case afoot in the Bear Flagger Republic. It began when an Oakland city employee posted an innocuous flier advertising a meeting for a Christian family chat group…Know where this is going right?

Attorneys Scott Lively and Richard D. Ackerman will be arguing the case before the Ninth Circuit on behalf of an African-American Christian woman who was threatened with termination at her job with the City of Oakland. The City of Oakland claims that references to the “natural family, marriage and family values” constitute hate speech which is scary to city workers.

Assuming the Ninth Circus rules predictably against the employees, the Newspeak Dictionary will likely have a fresh edition, as more language is removed from conversational acceptability. As in Orwell, the slow erasure of the language by political interests, is designed to make dissent impossible to express or understand if it is. The consequences of that principle here, are potentially broad:

[it] could silence debate about homosexuality and related issues in the entire Western United States since the Ninth Circuit controls a large region of the United States and its rulings are binding on millions of employees whose speech is subject to punishment…
