A New Day for the Life Movement

Interesting contrast on MSN this morning. First, I remind you of the procedure which was known as partial birth abortion:

The outlawed procedure, generally used to end pregnancies in the second and third trimester, involves partially removing the fetus intact from a woman’s uterus, then crushing or cutting its skull to complete the abortion. Opponents of the procedure call it partial-birth abortion.

Secondly, a quote from the ever-liberal Dianne Feinstein:

By validating a ban on such abortions, “the court has taken the first major step back” toward the days when abortion was illegal, said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

Yes senator, I believe that is exactly what this ruling represents. A step back to a time when such procedures of killing innocent unborn children were valued as corrupt and immoral in our society, long before the likes of you and your liberal allies have plagued our country with your culture of death. A culture mind you, that has spawned such hatred and evil which we saw in the shootings this week which took 32 innocent lives.

This ruling, like many more to come, will work miracles within our society, in showing our people that life is a precious commodity not to be devalued or wasted. Especially not, for the mere convenience of irresponsible women who seek to destroy innocent children for their own failures in judgment. Amen to this ruling, and to the demise of your radically evil feminist movement.

Partial Birth, Done Deal. My Thoughts…

I first got word of the Supreme Court decision today through an MSN story. In light of the tragic news that we heard on Monday which outlines the existence of evil in the world, this is an uplifting break from a horrible week in American history.

In a 5-4 decision, featuring majority Justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts, and Kennedy, the SCOTUS upheld the nationwide ban on partial birth abortion, sending joy to the rational among us, and fear to those that value the lives of some, but not others.

Court Rules On Warming

The Supreme Court ruled today in favor of regulating greenhouse gas emissions, a blow for the Bush Administration.

The nation’s highest court by a 5-4 vote said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency “has offered no reasoned explanation” for its refusal to regulate carbon dioxide and other emissions from new cars and trucks that contribute to climate change.

The ruling came in one of the most important environmental cases to reach the Supreme Court in decades. It marked the first high court decision in a case involving global warming.

But the real news was this:

The court’s four conservative justices — Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas — dissented.

This dissent is perhaps a first sign that conservatives have four champions on their side for future cases, and highlights the need for a conservative president to select one more judge.
